Online events
Themed discussion evenings, trivia nights, light-hearted competitions and live Q&A sessions. You take part from home, which is a much lower bar than turning up somewhere alone.

The feed
Post a status, share a photo, ask the room a question, comment on articles and take part in polls and quizzes. It is how most people here get noticed before anyone has messaged them.

Being seen is easier than being matched.
Most people find the first message the hardest part. A community removes it.
If you have already been in the same group chat, answered the same poll or turned up to the same Q&A, a first message is a continuation rather than a cold open. It is also a far better read on someone than a profile ever is. How a person talks to a room tells you things a bio never will.
It works the other way round too. Taking part makes you visible to people who would never have found you through search.

Every member carries a star rating that reflects how they behave across the whole community, not one conversation.
It rewards taking part and treating people well. Group chats, spaces and the feed all feed into it. A full five stars is intentionally difficult to earn, which is what stops it being gamed and what makes a high rating worth something.
The practical value is simple. You can see how someone conducts themselves before you decide whether to open a conversation.
